Questions

FAQs from this season

Do athletes need to bring their own badminton racket?

Athletes are encouraged to bring their own standard badminton racket, but NAA provides high-quality loaner rackets at every session for participants who do not have one.

What footwear and equipment are required?

Clean, non-marking indoor court shoes with good lateral support are mandatory to protect gymnasium hardwood and player ankles. Comfortable athletic shorts/t-shirt and a water bottle are required. Shuttles and training gear are fully provided by NAA.

Is badminton suitable for beginners?

Yes! Badminton is one of the most accessible sports for developing foundational hand-eye reactivity and footwork. Our Smash Foundation tier (Ages 6–10) caters to beginners with fun movement games and physical literacy, while Smash Elite (Ages 11–15) provides clear progression for both new and intermediate players.

How long are the sessions and when does the program run?

Sessions are 90 minutes each (5:30–7:00pm) on Thursdays (Oct 22 – Dec 10). Coaches follow a strict 90-second maximum instruction/demonstration pacing rule so kids spend their time active and hitting shuttles, not listening to long lectures.

How does the Family & Multi-Child Discount work?

We offer a 10% discount starting on your second registered participant (and each additional child). 1) Same Sport (Automatic): Complete registration for Child 1, then click "+ Register Another Participant" before paying. Your 10% multi-child discount will apply automatically at checkout. 2) Different Sports (Manual Refund): If enrolling across different sports (e.g. Badminton + Volleyball), complete each registration normally and email info@naacanada.org with the participant names and order numbers for a 10% refund within 7–10 business days.

When are final schedules and training groups confirmed?

Final schedules and training group assignments will be confirmed in the TeamLinkt app once registrations and facility allocations are complete.
