One of the most frequent questions we get from new families is: “Why do I need to download another app?” Fair question. Here is the honest answer.
Why TeamLinkt?
When we launched NAA, we looked at several registration and team management platforms — JotForm for forms, Square for payments, a shared Google Calendar for schedules, and a WhatsApp group for communications. Within one block, it became clear that juggling five different tools was a disaster for both our staff and our families.
TeamLinkt consolidates everything into one platform: registration, payment processing, schedule publishing, attendance tracking, cancellation notices, and direct messaging. It is a Canadian company based in Alberta, which means our data stays in Canada and they understand the nuances of Canadian youth sport administration.
It is not perfect — no platform is. The mobile app can feel a bit cluttered the first time you open it. But once you are set up, it works reliably, and that reliability matters when we need to push a weather cancellation notice to 80 families at 4 PM on a Thursday.
Setting Up Your Account
If you are registering an athlete for the first time, here is the process:
- Go to our TeamLinkt registration portal on your phone or computer.
- Search for National Athletics Academy if it is not already loaded.
- Select the program and tier you want (e.g., National Hoops — Junior Hoops, Ages 6–10).
- Fill out the registration form. You will need your child’s full name, date of birth, any medical or allergy information, and an emergency contact.
- Complete payment. If the program offers a two-installment plan, you will see that option during checkout.
- Download the TeamLinkt app from the App Store or Google Play if you have not already.
Once registered, your child’s team will appear in the app. All schedule updates, session reminders, and coach communications will come through here.
What to Expect in the App
Schedule Tab — This shows all upcoming sessions with dates, times, and venue details. If a session is cancelled due to weather or a facility issue, it will be updated here first.
Messages — Coaches and administrators use this to send announcements. You can also message back if you have a question, though for anything urgent we recommend calling us directly at (306) 330-9559.
Attendance — You can mark whether your child will attend or miss a session. This helps our coaches plan drills and groupings. We appreciate families marking absences in advance when possible.
A Common Concern
Some parents worry about yet another app having their personal data. TeamLinkt’s data is hosted in Canada, and their privacy practices are documented on their website. We do not sell, share, or use your registration data for anything beyond administering NAA programs. Our own Privacy Policy covers this in detail.
The Alternative
If you genuinely cannot use the app, you can always contact us directly through our Contact page or call us at (306) 330-9559. We will work with you. The app is the most efficient way for both sides, but we are not going to turn a family away because they prefer a phone call.
